The Will of Man vs. The Will of Allah: Creativity, Healing, and the Reparation of Creation

A serene landscape with green fields stretching to the horizon under a bright, clear sky. The image represents the "greening" of the world that will occur during Zuhur, symbolizing harmony between humanity, nature, and the cosmos. A figure in indigo stands at the center, gazing toward the vibrant world around them, embodying the connection between the divine order, creation, and the healing process.

Understanding the Role of Conscience Invention, and Alignment with Divine Will in Restoring Harmony

1. The Will of Man vs. The Will of Allah: Conscience vs. Invention

At the core of the relationship between human will (conscience) and divine will (invention) lies the concept of creation. While Allah's will directly brings things into existence, humans, created in Allah's image, engage in a process of creative realization. Human will is not the same as divine will. Where Allah's will manifests instantly, creating from nothing, the human will is rooted in conscience—an awareness that involves conscious choices and decisions filtered through intellect, emotion, and desire.

Creativity for humans, then, is not about creating from nothing, but rather about unveiling what is already embedded within creation. The human role is not to initiate, but to align, rearrange, and realize divine intention. This process of creative realization echoes the idea that the world is not broken, but we are merely returning it to its original state of balance and harmony—much like the reparation of the body.

Thus, when we speak of healing—whether it’s physical or spiritual—we speak of re-aligning with divine will. It is through this alignment, an act of creativity, that we participate in the restoration of creation. Healing is not a matter of inventing a new reality but of reconnecting to the original divine order.

2. Reparation of the Body and Healing

The connection between creation, healing, and the body is intricate. Just as Allah created the universe in balance and harmony, the human body is designed with its own natural balance (fitrah). When this balance is disrupted—through illness, injury, or spiritual dissonance—the process of reparation is akin to realigning the body with its original design, much like restoring creation to its intended state.

From a Qur’anic perspective, healing is not only physical but also spiritual and intellectual. In Surah Al-Isra (17:82), Allah describes the Qur'an as:

"We send down in the Qur'an such things that have healing and mercy for the believers..."

This highlights the Qur'an's role as a cure for the heart and soul. Similarly, Surah Fussilat (41:44) states:

"Say, 'It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure.'"

Healing the body, therefore, goes beyond restoring physical function—it is about aligning the body and soul with the divine order. The will of man (conscience) engages in actions like prayer, mindfulness, and seeking knowledge, which act as tools to preserve and restore health. However, true healing occurs when this will is surrendered to the will of Allah, whose perfection heals both the physical and spiritual realms.

3. The Connection Between Man and the Planets: Macro and Microcosm

In Islamic cosmology, the human being is a microcosm of the macrocosm. Just as Allah controls the celestial bodies and their movements (as stated in Surah Ar-Rahman), the human body is made of the same elements—earth, water, air, and fire—that compose the universe. There is an inherent connection between the human being and the cosmos, suggesting that the movements and balance of the stars and planets directly influence our lives.

Understanding this cosmic connection is integral to spiritual and physical healing. When we align ourselves with the divine order and synchronize with the cosmic forces, we open pathways for deeper harmony within ourselves. Zuhur, the return of the perfect state, will be a time when the world is vibrant with green—a symbol of restored vitality. This “greening” of the world signifies the return of harmony, not just within nature, but between humans, the Earth, and the cosmos. It will be a time when the balance of creation is fully restored, and human beings fulfill their role as caretakers of the Earth, living in alignment with divine will.

4. Healing Through the Reparation of Creation: A Shared Responsibility

Reparation goes beyond the individual and touches the world around us. By engaging in righteous actions and seeking knowledge, we contribute not only to the healing of our bodies but also to the healing of the world. The Qur’an’s teachings and the guidance of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) help us purify our hearts, align our wills with Allah’s, and restore the balance between the physical and spiritual realms.

The process of reparation is about realigning with the original divine order. As we engage in this healing process, we actively participate in the return to a flourishing world—one that embodies vitality, spiritual rebirth, and physical restoration. Zuhur, when it comes, will bring a restored balance, where justice is not just a state but a result of this universal realignment. It will be a time of vibrant creation, where every being is aligned with the divine will, allowing for the flourishing of both body and soul.

In summary, the creative process you’re exploring is not just about healing the body but healing creation itself. By understanding the divine will, aligning our consciousness with Allah’s invention, and acting in accordance with righteous guidance, we participate in the reparation of both ourselves and the world around us. This cosmic restoration is what will lead to Zuhur, the ultimate return to a flourishing, harmonious state, in both the physical and spiritual realms.

Reviving Sacred Learning: Why Children Should Write the Arabic Alphabet as a Form of Divine Connection

Reviving Sacred Learning: The Arabic Alphabet as a Child’s First Connection to Allah In our pursuit of Islamic education, we often limit the Arabic alphabet to a functional role—teaching children to read the Qur’an without considering the spiritual and cognitive impact of writing . But what if we reclaimed the Arabic script as a child’s first language of divine connection ? Instead of waiting for literacy to emerge passively, we should introduce the pen early , guiding small hands to trace the letters, write the Names of Allah, and engage with the divine script as an active practice of remembrance . Writing as a Spiritual and Cognitive Act Writing is not just a skill—it is a form of spiritual alignment. When a child writes the Arabic letters, they are: ✅ Seeing the sacred form ✅ Tracing the divine structure ✅ Internalizing meaning through action This engagement strengthens neural pathways, fuses spirituality with intelligence, and builds a foundation for lifelong connection ...

Understanding Nur, Ruh, and Nafs: The Activation of Divine Light and Spiritual Growth

The Divine Light: Analyzing Nur, Ruh, and Nafs Through the Lens of Neurological Activation Introduction: The Intersection of Spirituality and Neurology In the vast landscape of spiritual and metaphysical studies, the concepts of Nur (light) , Ruh (spirit) , and Nafs (self) have deep-rooted significance. Yet, how do these seemingly abstract ideas correspond to our physical bodies and neurological systems? In this post, we’ll explore the activation of these spiritual elements by drawing parallels with our brain’s intricate neural processes. By understanding Nur , Ruh , and Nafs not only from a metaphysical perspective but through the activation of the neurological system, we gain insights into how spiritual illumination can trigger profound changes within us. 1. Understanding Nur: The Divine Light Nur (نور) is the Arabic word for light, and its significance in spiritual contexts is profound. It represents illumination, guidance, and truth. From a linguistic standpoint, Nur comes from...
